Web Based, POP3 and iMAP E-Mail and Auto-Responders Access for your Awards Shopping Cart?
Synopsis of this Feature:
Web based e-mail (also known as web mail) is a very convenient tool. Web mail allows you to access your e-mail account from anywhere in the world as long as you have an internet connection and a web browser. Traveling on vacation and need to check your e-mail at an internet cafe? Web mail is there for you. Are you at a trade show and need to check your e-mail from a kiosk at the convention center? Web Mail is there for you. How about sitting in an airport and your laptop battery is drained? Simply go to an e-mail kiosk in the airport terminal and web mail is there for you?
POP3 e-mail provides a way for accessing your e-mail messages sitting on the server so you can download then to your PC's e-mail client such as Microsoft Outlook. POP3 is basically a store and forward type of system.
iMap is a client/server model of accessing e-mail messages. Changes you make in your iMap client also get changed on the server. By Using iMap, your e-mail messages are stored on the server, but you can use an e-mail client reader such as Microsoft Outlook to manage those e-mails. iMap is an interactive client/server e-mail system. Many phone devices, such as Blackberries and Palm Pilots can be configured to use iMap. This way you can be travelling, access e-mail and when you get back to your office, e-mails you have already managed on your hand held device will already be dealt with when you access them via your computer.
Auto-Responders are e-mail messages that are automatically sent as a response to an e-mail received. An Example of an Auto-Responder might include a message text of "Thank you for your e-mail message. This is confirmation that we have received your e-mail and will respond to it as soon as possible. If this is an immediate emergency, please call us at 775-996-1343" - So every e-mail message sent to you, will automatically send out a response message. You can setup auto-responders to let people know your our of the office until a particular date on vacation. There are many uses for auto responders.

Recommends you use the Google E-Mail vs. Server Integrated e-mail, however they will configure up to 5 e-mail accounts at your request according to their FAQ. There isn't any documentation whether the 5 e-mail accounts have web mail, auto responders or whether both POP3 or iMAP access is available, whether anti-spam, or anti-virus is available. No indication as to whether alternative ports for smtp is available to bypass ISP port blocking. No Indication of using exchange server with the 5 e-mail accounts..
If you go the route of using GoogleMail, you should gain access to e-mail anti-virus scanning, anti-spam, but we are not sure if your domain name can be used as part of the e-mail address @mydomain.com vs. @gmail.com.
NOTE: It is important to note that if you are e-mailing credit card information from an awards shopping cart to the e-mail server with a third party service, the connection of that e-mail transmission may not be encrypted and secured, and if it is not encrypted and secured, then a violation of PCI compliance is occurring. We do not know how AwardsCart® sends orders or other sensitive information via e-mail to third party e-mail server and thus cannot determine if the AwardsCart® recommendation of using Google E-Mail will be PCI compliant for the transmission of the e-mail from the server hosting the AwardsCart® shopping cart to the Google E-Mail server.
