Supplier Rankings to Control Exposure Levels by Supplier in your Awards Shopping Cart?
Synopsis of this Feature:
For an awards and trophy store to stay competitive, they must also offer a wide variety of awards and trophies, even awards and trophies they don't normally carry or stock on their shelves. That's the beauty of the web. Awards shops can offer awards and trophies, and when they are ordered by your customer using your awards shopping cart, then you order them from the supplier, even if the supplier is clear across the country. However with this need by the awards industry, you also have a need to be able to rank your suppliers in preferential order. This allows the trophy store to show products within categories for their preferred suppliers first, and non-preferred suppliers secondary.
For example, lets assume your awards store sells three companies award and trophy products:
- Company A
- Company B
- Company C
Now lets assume that you prefer to sell Company B's award and trophy products over Company A because Company B has a warehouse 1 mile from your store, thus allowing you to will-call and pickup those award and trophy products and save on inbound shipping charges.
BizWizard ShopKart™:
NetSoft Studio Software has features built into BizWizard ShopKart™ awards shopping cart software program, that allow you to offer award and trophy products from suppliers and set production lead days to ensure there is plenty of time to have the blanks shipped in.
In addition, you can rank your suppliers inside BizWizard ShopKart™ with preferential order. This allows you to specify which suppliers award and trophy products you would prefer to sell in your awards shopping cart without removing non-preferential suppliers award and trophy products from your awards shopping cart online catalog, thus allowing you to sell their award and trophy products, but not as a priority.
BizWizard ShopKart™ will allow you to rank those suppliers with your awards shopping cart so that when a site visitor is looking through the award and trophy product categories, they will be presented with Company B's award and trophy products first, and after no more award and trophy products are visible for Company B, then Company A's award and trophy products will be presented, followed by Company C.
In addition, with BizWizard ShopKart™, the awards buyer themselves will never see who the supplier is. We feel this is important to prevent garage startup operations as well as little leagues who want to gain a business license so they can buy their trophy parts at wholesale and have their kids put together the trophies. Who you buy your award and trophy products from should be part of your business confidential information and you should have the right to divulge it to your customers if you desire to do so.
AwardsCart®:
We could not find any way in AwardsCart® to rank suppliers. We looked over all their web pages, FAQ's etc and found no mention of this feature being available. If this feature is not available in AwardsCart®, then you cannot control the supplier ranking order of award and trophy products within AwardsCart®. We did find that AwardsCart® apparently lists who the manufacturer of an award and trophy product is. Some question you may want to ask yourself are:
- Do I want my awards shopping cart website to provide information on who my suppliers are and thus enable startup garage operations or little leagues to gain a business license and buy the parts and components directly at wholesale and have the little league teams put together the trophies?.
- Are awards and trophy buyers concerned with who the manufacturer of a trophy component is unless they are interested in where they can purchase award and trophy products at wholesale?
The following is a video where we looked around the AwardsCart® site to try and find some sort of documentation to determine if AwardsCart® had this feature. It is a lengthy video due to the many pages of information we had to look through. We were unable to find any evidence that you can control supplier rankings with the AwardsCart® awards shopping cart program.
PinnacleCart:
Because we could not find a way to rank suppliers, we consulted the PinnacleCart Documentation which AwardsCart® is a Private Labeling of PinnacleCart which was not designed ground up for the Awards and Recognition industry. In the PinnacleCart documentation we show the following screen shot which shows adding a manufacturer. We do not see any way to rank the manufacturer:
