Ability for Awards Shopping Cart Buyer to Edit an Item after adding the item to the Shopping Cart basket?

Synopsis of this Feature:
With all the customizations, engraving text, changing of figures a buyer needs to do while buying award and trophy products on an awards shopping cart web site, the site needs to provide the buyer with a way to edit the shopping cart item that was added as there is a higher than normal possibility of making a mistake during the ordering process. A Buyer may find an error in their submission when they added it to the shopping cart basket, and may need to simply correct a spelling error in a name submitted in the engraving text.

BizWizard ShopKart™
NetSoft Studio provides a way for the buyer using a BizWizard ShopKart™ awards shopping cart web site to make changes to award and trophy product customization selections, engraving or personalization text, special instructions and more. See the following video showing how BizWizard ShopKart™ provides the customer with the ability to edit and change a line item after it is added to the awards shopping cart.

AwardsCart®:
Now lets take a look at the AwardsCart® Software. What we found was there was no way to edit an item once it was added to the shopping cart. This can be a problem for a couple of reasons:

  • Customer has a typo in the engraving text they entered and needs to correct it
  • Customer selected the wrong figure, or column or base, etc.

We also noticed that what we thought was going to allow us to edit the item, the selection we made of a 6 1/2" figure was not retained. It was as if we had to start all over and add the award and trophy product to the cart again. So that is what we did. First we went to the checkout screen, tried to see if there was a way to edit the cart item from there and we were unsuccessful.

  • So we copied and pasted our engraving to save us time
  • Deleted the original item from the cart.
  • Then we had to go find the item again
  • Then we had to re-select the 6 1/2" figure
  • Then we had paste our engraving text back into the field and then make our corrections to the engraving text.

Lets watch the video documenting the steps we had to do to correct an error made in adding an item to the AwardsCart® shopping cart program.:
